From blood layers to regeneration : the power of centrifugation
The PRP preparation process is based on the principle of centrifugation, which separates blood components based on their density. When blood is placed in a centrifuge, it naturally separates into different layers due to centrifugal force.
The process begins with the separation of blood components based on their weight. Red blood cells, the heaviest components, move to the bottom.
White blood cells and platelets, lighter in weight, form a thin layer above the red blood cells.
Plasma, which is relatively low in platelets, is found at the top.
